How it’s calculated

Each day's hours are end time minus start time minus the break. Hours above the weekly overtime threshold are paid at the overtime multiplier.

day hours = end − start − break pay = regular hours × rate + overtime hours × rate × multiplier

Worked example

Three days of 9:00–17:30 with a 30-minute break, one day of 8:30–18:00 with a 45-minute break and a Friday of 9:00–15:00 add up to 38.75 hours. At $28 an hour that is $1,085.
